Recently, MIIT (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of People’s Republic of China) has officially approved to establish Sino-German (Kunshan) Cooperation Zone for SMEs, which becomes one of three newly approved Cooperation Zones nationwide in 2017, and one of seven Sino-German (Kunshan) Cooperation Zone for SMEs in China as well. This marks Kunshan city’s Sino-German Economic Cooperation has been enhanced to “national strategy”. Kunshan will been an example of “Made in China 2025” and “German Industry 4.0”
Kunshan awarded Sino-German Cooperation Zone for SMEs is of great significance for KSGIP (Kunshan German Industrial Park), which is the key to application of Cooperation Zone. It will provide a platform for the cluster of German enterprises, exchanges to Germany and improve the park image, and lay a cornerstone for further development and prosperity of KSGIP (Kunshan German Industrial Park).
Founded in 2005, KSGIP (Kunshan German Industrial Park) has been a main cluster for German companies in Kunshan. With a core area of 8 square kilo meters, KSGIP (Kunshan German Industrial Park) has three pillar industries including precision machinery, high-end food and headquarters & trading. Currently, there are 128 European and American enterprises with annual sales of 18 billion Yuan. 58 of them are German companies. 7 of them are Fortune 500 companies. KSGIP (Kunshan German Industrial Park) has become an important platform for European and American enterprises, especially German ones in the Yangtze River Delta region.
